Dexters
The native home of the Dexter is in Ireland where they were owned by small land holders. These early Dexters roamed the shelter-less, mountainous, Irish landscape in sparse living conditions, developing the hardy, thrifty characteristics that we value in the breed today. Dexters are one of the smallest heritage breeds of cattle. They are mini in size but they have not been miniaturized. They are friendly, inquisitive and easy to handle. Dexters are known for their tender flavorful gourmet quality beef and their excellent milk. Dexters have many terrific traits. We work hard to make sure that we only raise Dexters who are excellent examples of the breed, the rest become excellent beef.
